Since the arrival of Roman a decade ago we are accustomed to seeing Chelsea add to their squad with stellar names.
So it may come as something of a surprise that they are said to be close to doing a deal for a relative unknown. The Times reports:
CHELSEA are close to agreeing a deal to sign Andrej Kramaric, inset, after persuading the free-scoring Croatia international to accept a loan move to their Dutch feeder club, Vitesse Arnhem
The player is said to have a 2 million Euro release clause in his contract but has apparently agreed not to hold the club to it, providing they don’t interfere with his choice of destination when he does leave. The fee to Chelsea is reportedly set to be in the region of £4m.
The young striker has been on fire this season scoring goals for fun – at last count he had bagged 28 in 31 appearances for his current side HNK Rijeka.
The player is expected to move to Vitesse Arnhem, who Chelsea have strong links with, until the end of the season at least.
He’s already become a deadly finisher who is pretty good in all departments. He’s quick, strong and already has experience for the Croatia national side, scoring 2 goals in 4 games since his debut in 2014.
Let’s see the lad in action. Chelsea fans: future star or another loanee who will never make the grade?
