Manchester United will undoubtedly sign another midfielder before too long. They look better equipped in the engine room than at any time in the last 5 years. But a midfield dominator is still required in the longer term.
Many assume that man will be Kevin Strootman. But another, much longer term target, has been linked with the club again in the latest news cycle. That man is Ilkay Gundogan:

BORUSSIA DORTMUND are ready to listen to offers for Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool also interested.
The 24 year old was seen as one of the brightest prospects in German football a couple of years ago. Injuries have deprived him of almost two seasons of football but he’s back now and still has his best years ahead of him.
In his prime, he’s a master of all trades – a box to box athlete who is as good defending as he is creating. He really is a dream of a midfielder and there is little doubt that he could improve Manchester United if he could return to full fitness.
He’s back in the fold at Dortmund now and has played a dozen games this season, scoring one goal.
With such an injury record he may be seen as a risky signing. But the same could be said for Kevin Strootman who has also suffered long term injury.

Van gaal do not sit and fold ur hands we need signing to boost the defences and midfield players like hummel, samsus coleman, juan gaudardo strootman or gundogan,baines and even a stricker from Ac milan go for them and sign them now

Man united needs a would class players who can hold the mildfield and as well the defence and by shining ilkay gundogan would enforce our mildfield and we the fans still need more….

it wonderful that we have been given agreen light to sign verstile defenders like coleman ,gimenez,wesley sneider as he is currently not happi at club we need faces at the centre of the park
