Another win for Tottenham at the weekend but another game which could so easily have left Mauricio Pochettino with a crisis on his hands. Such is the unpredictable nature of Spurs that you just don’t know what you are going to get each week and the boss will surely look to add stability with a couple of signings in January.
Ben Davies has been quietly finding his way into the team over recent weeks but Tottenham need more defensive cover in general and latest reports suggest that a surprise move could be on the cards. The Mirror reports:
Tottenham and Napoli interested in signing Aston Villa defender Aly Cissokho
Cissokho had a shocking start to his career in England with a failed loan move to Liverpool where he appeared 14 times but never seemed to have the confidence of the manager. His move to Villa has not been without its teething problems but he’s started galloping down that left-flank with purpose and put in another really solid shift against Manchester United at the weekend.
At 27, and with just one cap for France, he’s hardly likely to improve too much more. But it’s not completely outlandish to think that his mobility and pace may be of interest to the Tottenham manager.
Let’s see the lad in action. Tottenham fans: keen?
