Manchester United’s quest for another quality midfielder may lead them to Barcelona passmaster Sergio Busquets, according to latest reports.
The 26 year old has been an important part of arguably the greatest club side of all time and Barcelona are said to want to keep the player who has won 16 major titles in his senior club career – plus two for his country.
But The Express reports that:
ARSENAL, Manchester United and Chelsea are plotting summer moves for Barcelona’s Sergio Busquets.
and that
…like former team-mate Victor Valdes, Busquets is keeping his eye open for a new challenge after spending his entire career so far with the Catalan giants.
At 26 Busquets is to Barcelona what Michael Carrick is to Manchester United – namely the solid hub from which everything is built. Busquests is a real team man who keeps things ticking in the midfield, offers cover for his defence and gets attacks started with his lovely range of passing. The midfielder has also been metronomic for his country having won 74 caps and a World Cup winners’ medal in a sparking career.
With Carrick now 33 you could imagine that Manchester United would be keen on the Spaniard. But Barca will want to hold onto their players in light of their current transfer ban.
Let’s see Busquets during some of his better moments. Manchester United fans: can you imagine Sergio settling at Old Trafford?
