When we look at Tottenham we see a lot of dead wood in the squad – players who are costing the club a lot of money but aren’t really justifying their positions at White Hart Lane.
Certainly when we canvas opinion about this amongst Tottenham fans the consensus seems to be that Spurs are desperate to make two or three really good signings to stop the rot.
Two of the Tottenham players who have been the subject to much ire this season are Roberto Soldado and Emmaneual Adebayor. While the latter has scored some important goals his influence has waned of late. As for Soldado, he has never really had any influence at the club hitherto.
Many a Tottenham fan would like to get rid and reports suggest that the club might clear the decks for a genius:
Tottenham prepare DOUBLE striker sale to fund Jackson Martinez acquisition
TOTTENHAM are considering offloading striking duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado to fund a move for Porto star Jackson Martinez.
We have spoken much about Tottenham’s misfiring strikers so let’s concentrate on Martinez. He’s probably the best player in Europe who is currently without an elite club.
Quite why he hasn’t made a big move yet is anyone’s guess – perhaps there is a massive flaw in his game that most of us don’t see – but even if he isn’t the complete striker he pretty much guarantees goals.
He’s smashed in an unbelievable 56 in 72 league games since joining Porto in 2012. 28 in 58 league games for Chiapas in Mexico before that and 10 in 35 for Colombia.
At 28 he’s surely worth a punt and is almost certainly better than what Tottenham currently have up top (an honourable nod in the direction of young Harry Kane of course).
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: what’s not to like about this guy?

First off, nobody is going to buy either one of our 2 “for sale” strikers. One pretty much ice cold and the other is just too enigmatic to invest any more money or time. Spurs will have to get somebody on the cheap and hope they can just take a loss on all of the deadweight they’re carrying.
