Playing badly and winning hey? A reminder of how things regularly were before the Moyes nightmare.
It’s a good position to be in because the performance levels will certainly improve over time. Individuals are coming to the boil – Rooney, De Gea and RvP are playing out of their skin at the moment – but the group is still some way short of a proper team.
This cannot have been helped by the constant injuries and Manchester United will hope that they are seeing light at the end of the tunnel now.
With Angel di Maria and Marcos Rojo expected back this weekend Manchester United may just be able to put out something resembling their best team. Luke Shaw would of course be part of that top 11 but he remains sidelined.
So it’s happy days for Manchester United fans. And the perfect Christmas would have to be 12 points and blossoming of Radamel Falcao.
On that point, the Colombian surely has to start against Villa. James Wilson is still young and inconsistent but Falcao will be desperate for minutes. And how he needs them.
So we are putting him up top with RvP in the hope that they can start to form a proper partnership with Wazza in behind.
It’s a very positive side and we think that this team would be too powerful for Villa.
Manchester United fans: let’s have your elevens please.
