Please don’t shoot the messenger on this one. We are simply passing on the news that we feel will keep you Manchester United fans abreast of all potential events surrounding the club.
When we first read this we thought it was utter tripe. And Louis van Gaal doesn’t strike us as a man who looks back too often.
Nevertheless, with Manchester United’s defence looking leaky The Daily Star reports that a Red legend could be close to agreeing a shock move back to the club:
Manchester United AGREE deal to RE-SIGN Nemanja Vidic
NEMANJA VIDIC is reportedly on the verge of making a shock return to Manchester United.
As we said, on first inspection, it seems like a load of rubbish. Manchester United have stated that they aren’t looking for quick fixes in this window. And Vidic himself hasn’t been great in Italy.
But stranger things have happened. If Manchester United can’t snare a major defensive target in the winter – a typically difficult time to do top business – then maybe they will look at shorter term options in order to reinforce their chances of that vital top four finish.
At 33 Vidic doesn’t have any pace. But he’s a natural born leader, a great organiser and someone who will undoubtedly play his heart out for the club.
With Chris Smalling and Phil Jones currently crocked perhaps Manchester United will go for a quick fix after all.
Let’s take a look at Nemanja in action. Manchester United fans: would he still improve the defence?
