Reports this week suggest that Manchester United will make a move for Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris if David de Gea is tempted away by one of the Spanish giants.
Lloris has been a revelation at Spurs since he came through the door at White Hart Lane and has perhaps even altered our perceptions of the role of a keeper. Because he’s one of the most proactive No.1s around. He loves to come out of his area and intercept opposition passes. And such is his ball control that he usually gets away with it.
However, the feeling that we get from Manchester United fans is that they simply don’t want him. Because for all his qualities his arrival would mean the departure of one of Manchester United’s best players.
Lloris is a top stopper, but De Gea is sublime. His handling and agility are second to none. He rarely spills the ball – even from exceedingly well struck shots. Whats more De Gea may be even more skilful on the deck than the Frenchman. De Gea’s passing is exceptional and, added to his improved physicality and presence in the area, he is nigh on perfect.
Lloris would be a good signing for most clubs. But not for Manchester United. Because they are one of the few clubs in the world to have an even better keeper than Spurs right now.
Let’s see Lloris in action. Manchester United fans: would you trade De Gea in for any keeper right now?

It would be like swapping a Ford (DeGea) for a Bentley (Lloris), absolutely no chance, dreamers!!!
