Frightening

When one big club takes an interest in a player they can of course get it wrong. But when lots of big clubs are linked to a young star then it’s safe to assume that there is something special there.

Since last summer there has been constant speculation that PSV youngster Zakaria Bakkali would be on the move. And now Manchester United could be showing a serious interest.

Latest tabloid reports state that:

MANCHESTER UNITED have moved into pole position in the race to sign Belgian starlet Zakaria Bakkali.

PSV boss Phillip Cocu has demoted Bakkali, who has been dubbed ‘the new Eden Hazard’, to the B team this season and he looks set to leave next summer when his current deal expires.

Even though he has still only played 22 career games (3 goals) at senior club level for PSV, such has been the impression made that the lad made his debut for a really celebrated Belgium international team last year.

He’s still somewhat raw, but Bakkali already has great pace, a big physique and an explosive shot on him.

We’ve opined on many occasions that we reckon it’s only a matter of time before Louis van Gaal invests in a flying winger to complement the talents of Di Maria on the other side. A coach of the status of Van Gaal would, you imagine, have a great contacts book and the net will be cast wide for players who can improve this Manchester United team.

Bakkali might just be the one who gets the nod. Because, even at 18, he looks as if he can cause serious damage in The Premier League.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Manchester United fans: too young to go into the team?
