Manchester United have publicly stated that they won’t be tempted to sign any “short-term fixes” in the winter window.
Every player that they buy they intend to become an integral member of the team of the next few years. But it’s difficult to imagine that Manchester United won’t at least be tempted to add a defender in January as the defence has been pretty much threadbare, due to inquires and departures, all season.
New reports suggest that Manchester United and Manchester City may be about to do battle for a new target.
The Express reports:
MANCHESTER UNITED and Manchester City will go head-to-head for the signature of AC Milan defender Adil Rami.
Rated at £10m, according to the source, the 28 year old has been a stalwart of the AC Milan side over the last year. At 6ft 3in he’s an absolute beast of a man in the prime of his career. He does have 26 caps for France but hasn’t been selected for the national squad since 2013.
Bought for just £3m from Valencia in 2013 his stock has risen so quickly that now he reportedly Manchester City and United after him.
Considering Manchester City have Demichelis, Kompany and Mangala to call on you would imagine that Manchester United’s need is greater right now.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans: Is he good enough or would you rathe hold out for a bigger target, even if that means waiting until the summer?
