Perhaps due in part to last summer’s underwhelming window, Tottenham have been cautious in the market under Mauricio Pochettino. But the Tottenham boss has wisely surveyed the market before jumping in.
Latest reports suggest that he may be about to make a move to add dynamism to his midfield.
Tottenham will make an audacious move to sign Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph in January.
The north Londoners are keen to beat rival interest in the England midfielder, who is set to be available on a free transfer next summer – and Mirror Sport understands the 24-year-old would be up for the move.
After a slow start to life at Aston Villa Delph has been the talk of the town of late after some consistently brilliant form which has seen him capped 3 times by England. He made his debut on September 3rd against Norway but a shoulder injury has prevented him from being available for the latest round of international fixtures.
He’s an interesting player with a varied skill set. He has the sort of mobility and athleticism to be a central midfielder but also has the silky touch for a more attack minded berth in the team. He likes to dribble and isn’t short on pace. If his progress continues in this vein he could become a really excellent addition to most squads. Tottenham could perhaps profit from the spark that he has increasingly added to the Villa midfield.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: good enough.
