He is a reported target for Chelsea and Arsenal and, in his current goalscoring form, it’s easy to see why. But reports today state clearly that Valencia’s 21-year-old striker Paco Alcacer is happy at his current club.

Valencia’s 21-year-old striker Paco Alcacer, a reported target for Chelsea and Arsenal, says he has no desire to leave his current club. (AS – in Spanish)

The player himself stated:

“I am from Valencia and I want to continue here.”

Chelsea now have a great array of striking options, having signed Diego Costa, Didier Drogba and Loic Remy in the summer. But all three are mature in age and Chelsea will surely be looking to sign some younger stars of the future over the next 18 months.

There is very little not to like about the Spanish striker who has scored three goals in four appearances for Spain and has found the net with great regularity at club level too – including 42 in 63 games for Valencia’s B side.

If he carries on at this rate Valencia will have a real struggle to hold onto the 21 year old as superclubs like Chelsea perhaps circle. But he has that refreshing and rare sense of loyalty to his home club and that may preclude a transfer, even in the long-term.

Let’s have a look at Alcacer’s highlights. Chelsea fans: does he suit your style of play?
