The Good News for United

Optimism

Despite Derby day defeat there is room for optimism at Manchester United. Here’s why:

Injuries

Jose Mourinho was bemoaning his injury list last week. Pah! Even Arsenal’s injury problems have been dwarfed by United’s list of walking wounded.

This week the list has grown yet again with Rafa and Rojo’s absences further crippling the defence.

But the good news is that it can only improve. After a relatively straightforward looking match against Crystal Palace at home it’s the international break, after which that injury situation should look a lot better.

Form

Is getting better all the time. This is a team that is growing. Even with ten men away at the champions United gave City a game. 1-0 is a valiant scoreline considering the spanking United received last season. Of course, other refs would have given at least one penalty against United on Sunday. But other refs would also have sent Joe Hart off for his ‘headbutt.’

There is belief, fight and quality in this Manchester United incarnation. And their heads don’t go down.

Fixtures

Manchester United have a hellish looking April 2015. But, until then, they don’t have to play the best two sides. Chelsea and City are streets ahead of the rest and Manchester United will relish facing Arsenal and Liverpool – their two main rivals for a Champions League berth. United will start picking up points and momentum now.

Attack

It puts even the best teams on the back foot. The pace and wicked deliveries of Di Maria, the quality and directness of the returning Rooney and the improving RvP gave City problems. When Falcao gets a run of games there will be real fireworks.

Sell off some players to create space for new ones, the likes of Ashely young, lindergard, Anderson, Fletcher, Smalling and finally Jonny evans. Bring in Matt hummels, Howedes, Draxler, Strootman, Marco Reus and finally Enzo perez. That can atleast give us some good team balance. bigups to all utd fans

for the lineup for utd against palace, i would prefer Falcao or Willson to RVP, the guy is too slow, looks tired declining every match. and another problem is januzaj, i dont understand this guy style off play, does he train alone b’se since the westbrom match he has never created any chance or even mere passing the ball to fellow players. He just thinks he is a match winner, not really we need to win matches as a team not doing things on individual basis.

I don’t think I will like to see Januzaj near that team for now. He is very very selfish and sluggish. Always hanging on the ball too much. It was even worse than ever against Man City. His pattern of play looks so childish for now, despite having the potential to becoming a good player in future. Moreover, Chris smalling should be thrown away totally. He is not worthy to be a Man Utd player. Rubbish!

I think both Smalling and Rafael should go! They have been given enough time to prove themselves. We need a new look back line!
One thing I a not entirely sure is that whether Mata is the type of player that we need.
