Another Dutchman?

This one may seem like a long shot but, actually, we can see it happening.

David de Gea has been largely faultless in goal for Manchester United over the last 18 months – he’s now comfortably one of the best in the world and we are agog that he’s not yet Spain’s number 1 – especially with them looking to rebuild after the end of a golden era.

But, with Anders Lindegaard reportedly agitating for a move over the last year, it may not be too long before reinforcements are required. Sam Johnstone is an excellent prospect but Manchester United may prefer a more experienced stopper for big games if De Gea was injured.

The Guardian reports today:

there’s a rumour here that Manchester United are looking at Tim Krul.

Things are going from bad to worse at Newcastle and Krul may look for pastures new at some stage in his blossoming career. A place on the bench at Manchester United may seem, at first, unattractive. But the chance to work with some of the best coaches and players in the world would surely be tempting, in terms career development and self-improvement.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans: will Lindegaard leave and do you fancy Krul as another Dutch recruit in the Van Gaal era?
