It seems that the transfer window is the ultimate game of brinkmanship as so many of the deals that will happen in this window will occur in the last few days of it.
Manchester United seem to be one of the clubs who are shuffling their pack the most and one of the victims, in the short-term at least, could be Danny Welbeck.
The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham may get their hands on Welbeck for a year long loan deal and we think he would be a great addition to the squad.
Danny Welbeck boost for Tottenham as Man United striker keen on loan move to White Hart Lane
With Javier Hernandez also potentially leaving United this summer it’s rather puzzling that Manchester United should let such a player go. Welbeck is a superb athlete who never stops running. He’s also got raw pace and some real invention to his forward play. Add his adaptability and, at 23, you have a very valuable asset.
But with United’s fixture list much freer than in recent years – they’re out of The Capital One Cup and Europe of course – the idea of the loan will give the player lots of game time this season and allow Manchester United to see how he develops.
But make no mistake, if it happens this is the best bit of business that Tottenham will do in the last few days of the window – probably all summer.
Let’s see well back in action. Tottenham fans: keen?

Kane better than Welbeck? Just what planet do you live on? Kane is doing ok but he has zero pace compared to Welbeck who is blisteringly fast. In case you didn’t know Welbeck is an established England player and he could play wide or central as striker, he’d be a fantastic addition for us. Can’t believe what a load of moaning mingers some Spurs fans are!

Who wrote this? Wellbeck is rubbish, close to useless. This is a rumour invented by the Spurs hating Mirror. Some Athelte! Runs forward can’t get back. Can’t score and aint much cop for much else. There’s a reason Utd finished 7th last year and he’s part of it!

He’d be a great signing. Soldado is total gash and Ade is off to Africa in January. Welbeck would offer an option wide or up front.

Let’s stick with Harry, anyway why do we want a player Man U don’t want? Not saying Welbeck isn’t a decent talent and puts in an honest effort, but we’ve already got players like that.

He has potential but couldn’t see him getting that many games, worth a loan if we get option to buy at reasonable price

No thanks, not even on loan! Hugely overrated. He would bring nothing, zero, to the squad that we don’t already have, and what we have is better! Frankly he’s toilet. There must be better alternatives? For example, Jay Rodriguez at Southampton. OK, he’s injured currently and may be a challenge to obtain from Saints, but a better gamble than Welbeck!

I think you’ll find that wellbeck has an unbelievable wealth of talent, pace, and an eye fot a goal, somethimg that utd didn’t really exploit because of the VP/Rooney option to play every game. If given a chance of regular football I think he’ll prove all the doubtes wrong and be a great signing for us. He will bag a hatfull of goals. Rest assured if he goes to the goons and we miss out he’ll be incredible for them. Fergie was rarely wrong about a player and would’nt have signed him if he was no good.

Wellbeck is a hopeless case he is not a striker look at his scoring ratio , he is not a winger according to him , he is no midfielder and alas he is no goal keeper , so what do we want with him does cheapness come into this scenario because he won`t get us points and what do points get you that`s right they get you prize`s .

This guy would be perfect for Potchettino’s high tempo pressing game, A different environment will do him the world of good. He’s got the right attitude might not have an amazing goal record now but he has all the raw materials to be a absolute monster and Potch can bring it out of him, going to Spurs now is the best thing that could happen to him.

IF he comes, he will be ok for the ropey league. Its a extra 17 games to win it, so maybe that’s what Poch has in mind?
