It’s been a real damp squib of a transfer window for Manchester United so far. So much was expected in terms of arrivals but, so far, no marquee signatures have been made.

Manchester United fans are starting to believe that it is going to be another apocalyptically bad window for the club. But breaking news suggests that the club may be able to sign one of their top targets after all.

Marca reports this afternoon that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Angel Di Maria wants to leave the club this summer.

He is quoted a saying:

‘Di María has asked to leave and rejected an offer from the club. If he does not find a future solution, he stays – no problem’,

If Manchester United could sign this pacey winger then it would change the complexion of the league in one fell swoop. It would not only give the fans a massive boost but also increase the confidence of the playing staff at Manchester United who must be feeling down in the dumps after a shocking opening day defeat at home against Swansea.

You feel that a really top signing is absolutely crucial to Manchester United right now and this could be the breakthrough for them.
