Surely not

We regularly say that there is no smoke without fire in the transfer market. But this one has left us feeling very confused.

Because rumours have persisted all summer that Chelsea may be looking to offload their World Cup winner Andre Schurrle.

He didn’t have the greatest first season at Chelsea but he did take his chances when he was given game time and he showed at The World Cup that he is a really classy and efficient performer.

Yet The Daily Mail reports that talk have begun between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid over a proposed transfer.

Atletico Madrid open talks with Chelsea over World Cup winner Andre Schurrle

We have said before that while the German may not be the jet-heeled winger that Jose Mourinho regularly likes to have in his side, he would still be an excellent squad member for the club this year. We would go as far as to say that, on form, he deserves a place in the first 11 ahead of the likes of Willian and Salah. He’s an adaptable footballer who can play on either flank or through the middle and he’s a genuine goal threat, as we saw again with his wonderful effort against Brazil.

Provider or goalscorer this is a top class player and one who is still improving. We would be amazed if Chelsea let him go so soon after signing him.

Let’s see Schurrle in action. Chelsea fans: surely worth keeping?

I cant see it. Schurrle is an excellent player going forwards and Jose loves him because hes defensively minded also. Hes been excellent since his cup return and his free kicks have been spot on. Chelsea would be barking mad to lose him

Mr. Jose buy loic remy, what an earth have we to lose, underrated player that would link well and movement is first class, he’s hungry to succeed and let those who had the chance to buy him realise just what they missed. He’ll score goals and with a bit of tailoring he’ll work his sucks of, very intelligent player with bags if pace???what else? He’s cheap compared to the overrated cavani.? CFC for life..

Id rather we get Bony than Remy. Theres no smoke without fire and that problem he had with the cops might return in the future you never know and if hes not good enough even for the scousers to turn down why should we get their sloppy seconds.

Yea I’m hearing ya, but let’s not forget, there’s no saints in football as we’ve seen over the years and some given the chane have turned it around. Bony? Good thought , totally forgot about him, indeed a deadly marksmen.
