Louis Van Gaal apparently handed Ed Woodward a list of targets this summer, to include a Plan A, B and C. If Manchester United do get this deal done that it would have to be considered the plan A.
Because there are few better players in the world for the newly created right wingback position at Manchester United than Colombia international Juan Cuadrado.
With Barcelona seemingly also in the mix for his signature this deal would represent a major coup for Manchester United. An A-list signing that the fans crave. The Daily Mail suggests that the transfer could be completed as soon as this weekend.
United are hoping to seal the £25million (31m Euro) signing of Columbian Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina by the end of the weekend.
Earlier in the week a breakthrough seemed more likely for the player when Fiorentina president Andrea della Valle said of Cuadrado:
‘But I want to say to Fiorentina fans that if a big offer arrives, the player will leave our club, and I think this offer will arrive.
We think that this would be a super addition to the side. While Valencia and Rafael are more than capable of doing a job on the right side, Cuadrado adds an extra attacking dimension. He’s a speed demon with great feet, wonderful distribution and the ability to carve goals out of nothing.
We are still concerned that Barcelona will come in for the player having completed their business for Thomas Vermaelen but the next week should prove conclusive, one mayor the other, for Manchester United.
Let’s see the lad in a action.
