Manchester United have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Juan Guillermo Cuadrado. The club are prepared to offer the winger a huge contract in the hope that he will choose to sign for them over other potential suitors according to The Express.
Man Utd set to TRUMP Barcelona for Juan Cuadrado with enormous wage offer
While the exact details of the contract on offer are not known, the wages are believed to be much higher than any other club has offered. This puts Manchester United firmly in the driving seat to the land the winger.
Cuadrado is a known target for Spanish giants Barcelona and the club were reported to be in negotiations with the player, dashing the hopes of Manchester United fans. However, it emerged several days ago that talks between the Catalan side and the Colombian had stalled. This left the door open for Louis van Gaal to swoop for his man.
While the lure of playing for Barcelona with the likes of Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez may be tempting, The Express understands that the Catalan side are unwilling to pay huge wages to sign the player.
The report suggests that Bayern Munich are also interested in the Colombian but they too are unlikely to offer a contract that can match Manchester United’s.
Whatever the case, it is likely that Manchester United will have to pay in excess of £30 million if they want to force Fiorentina to sell.
Following impressive displays at the 2014 World Cup for Colombia, Cuadrado has attracted interest across Europe. This has led to intensive speculation that the winger will likely leave Italian side Fiorentina over the summer.
The 26-year-old has been at the Serie A side since 2012, having joined from fellow Italian club Udinese. In that time, he has played 83 times in all competitions and found the net on 20 occasions. His solid performances at club level had also led to Cuadrado achieving 31 full international caps for his national side.
Let’s see some Cuadrado action. Manchester United fans: a must buy?

Juan is a classy winger, was very impressed with him at the world cup, will be a excellent buy for Man Utd. Blind & vermaelen will be good as well. Vidal to add to that will make Man utd a force to be reckoned with.
