Everton’s next signing? Reports

Good business

Everton have done some unbelievably good business over the last day with the permanent signing of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea for around £28 million.

It has smashed their previous transfer record of £15 million and you do sense that Everton’s whole summer was being dictated to by this deal.

It was the number one priority for the club and has taken up a huge amount of their transfer kitty.

But we know from last season that Everton manager Roberto Martinez is a master of the loan market. And it looks as if he will be entering it for at very least one deal again this summer.

The Metro reports Thursday evening that Everton are close to another deal:

Everton are hopeful of beating ten other clubs to the loan signing of Chelsea winger Christian Atsu.

The Daily Mail reports:

Everton are poised to sign Christian Atsu ahead of other rivals for the Ghanaian’s signature.

The 22-year-old has been on loan at Vitesse and was left out of Wednesday’s friendly between the two sides.

The 22 year old from Ghana began his senior career at Porto, where he played 17 league games between 2011-13 and also made 27 league appearances in a loan spell to Rio Ave. during that time.

The promising youngster moved to Chelsea in 2013 but went back out on loan to Vitesse Arnhem where he continued to impress and played more often than not last season.

Remarkably, for one so young, he’s already turned out 26 times for Ghana and scored an impressive 5 goals. He also started Ghana’s first group game at The World Cup in Brazil.

So, despite his age, he’s got loads of experience and we think that he can have a big impact on an Everton side which could use a little more pace out wide this season.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Everton fans: A player for the first XI?
