Happy Days: Tottenham looking to splurge €63.1m – report

There had been whispers of austerity in relation to Tottenham transfers this summer.

After spending so much money at the end of the last campaign, with mixed results, some believed that Tottenham wouldn’t be making huge investments in this transfer window.

But we don’t need to point out that virtually all of the money spent last summer was from the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid.

You would also imagine that, on taking the job, Mauricio Pochettino would have sought assurances that he would have money to spend in order to mould the Tottenham squad to his liking.

And the latest speculation suggests that Tottenham are indeed set to spend a lot of money. We believe that a holding midfielder and striker should be the priorities for Tottenham now and the new boss seems to concur, if reports are to be believed. The Express says:

TOTTENHAM boss Mauricio Pochettino is looking to heap more misery on former club Southampton with a £50million raid for Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez.

The suggestion from many areas of the media today is that Arsenal target Schneiderlin would prefer a move to Tottenham, to team up with his old boss.

As we reported yesterday, we think that he would be an excellent addition to the midfield, at once solidify and quickening it up.

As for Rodriguez, you do feel that a move is imminent for the player this summer. He’s been linked to several major clubs already and Tottenham may feel that they have the upper hand, again due to the new coach.

Tottenham may also be able to offer stronger assurances about game time for the lad as their front line is in serious need of rejuvenation.

Let’s take a look at Rodriguez in action. Tottenham fans: is Rodriguez a first eleven player?

Why have you used the euro sign in the supposed cost of these two players? Do we buy players in the uk with euro’s? Do we sell players to other teams in the uk in euro’s? NO WE DON’T! So stop using the euro sign to try and exagerate the amount. If you don’t understand our monetry system or currency, then don’t include it in your writing. We use pounds in the uk, not euro’s!

Well that was an article basically cut and paste from every other article already written saying exactly the same thing. So you take one line from ‘The Express’ which is just supposition and copy the headline. Wow if you are not the laziest bloggest ever. I can picture at home in bed eating your morning crumpets putting this together in about 16 minutes.

Spending £50m on players not even worth half that might be happy days for you but not for the sane Spurs fan. We need a proper #9 and at least 1 top centre half as a priority, defensive midfield is more than adequately stocked and the Southampton player isn’t even as good as what we already have there.
