Tottenham’s summer business has begun with the acquisitions of Ben Davies and Michel Vorm – both quality players. One with great potential and his whole career ahead of him, and the other, an experienced set of hands who will keep Hugo Lloris on his toes and offer great cover for the Frenchman – Tottenham needn’t worry if Lloris gets injured because Vorm is a really experienced stopper at the top of his game.
But you would hope that there will be more serious investment to come. Tottenham need strikers more than anything and the rumour mills have been busy speculating about who might come in this summer.
One name that has been persistently mentioned in relation to Tottenham is Jay Rodriguez. Managed by Pochettino at Southampton of course, BBC journalist Ben Smith tweeted that Tottenham have now made an enquiry for the player.
You would imagine that Rodriguez, at 24, would see this as the perfect time and opportunity to further his career. Of course he got into the England squad playing on the south coast. But, with the amount of players leaving the club this summer, it will be difficult for them to replicate their form next season.
A move to Tottenham seems on the cards for Rodriguez who is an intelligent and hard-working striker with a really nice touch.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: would this represent an exciting signing or should the club be looking elsewhere for further firepower?

“We need strikers more than anything”??? Centre backs. Vlad on the transfer list, Daws as quick as a model T Ford, Kaboul an injury waiting to happen and Jan wanting to leave for CL football. I’d say at least one centre back, possibly two.

Just an observation here not a troll. We are being told about (not just in this article) all this great talent leaving Southampton for the premier league elite Man U, Liverpool & Woolwich as well as ourselves and also how great MoPo was as a leader, yet still they only finished 8th, if over 50% of my team were being sourced by others at the prices being paid I would have expected a higher placed finish. When you consider no real bids have come for our players nor those of Everton or Man U except their retirees it makes me think that perhaps MoPo isn’t as great as we’re being lead to believe.
