Manchester United: El Fideo available for transfer – report

All that?

It’s a strange summer in the transfer market in as much as the biggest deals have surely already been done.

James Rodriguez has gone to Real Madrid for over £60 million and Luis Suarez has signed for Barcelona for £75M. It’s doubtful that anyone else will command that fee this summer.

The next category down is a the £40-£50 million bracket which is being mooted as a price for potential Manchester United target Angel di Maria.

Recent reports suggest that Manchester United have been told that Di Maria – nickname ‘El Fideo‘ (‘The Noodle’ due to his slight frame) – is available at the right price. The Independent reported:

United have been made aware that Angel di Maria is on the market

We have said it before – we don’t think he’s worth anywhere near that amount of cash.

Di Maria is, of course, capable of sublime football. But so is Nani.

And, like the Portuguese, he can go missing from games and and make big mistakes, as well as playing some good footy.

At £25 million you might fancy a punt. But if the fee were to rise to something around the £50 million e think he would represent a really bad investment.

If Manchester United want to sign a really top quality winger in this summer then they should surely be going for the likes of Juan Cuadrado and Marco Reus – players who would immediately and consistently improve the first XI.

Let’s see some of Di Maria’s highlights. Manchester United fans: let’s have your opinion on the lad.

Is he worth anywhere near 50 million squid?

I agree 100% . Di Maria is not worth all that money.
BUT REUS most especially is the ideal player that UTD DESPERATELY NEED.And this time UTD have to be generous to offer 35-40 million to get the player.
In case UTD would be unable to secure REUS then
JUAN CUADRADO would be surely the next choice.

If man united are not able to get marco Reus, the should plan and pay £60m for Di Maria
