Manchester United have various areas of arguable weakness in their squad. But the forward line has generally remained pretty strong over the last few years.
But one player who seems increasingly unhappy to be sitting on the bench is Javier Hernandez.
The Mexico international had a sensational first season at Manchester United scoring 20 goals. He looked as if he had the world at his feet.
And while he has remained a quality player his finishing ability hasn’t improved and there are questions marks over his first touch and ability to shoot from outside the box.
Nevertheless he is an excellent squad member – someone who always works his socks off and provides a real goal threat when he does play.
It’s that workrate and goal-poaching ability which has made him a fan favourite at Manchester United. But reports on Wednesday suggest that he could well be on his way.
The Express reports:
Reports circulating in the British and Spanish press have revealed that the Nerazzurri are hot in pursuit of the Mexican, and are poised to offer a fee in the region of £15m to secure his services.
We think that Chicharito would be a sad loss to Manchester United. But sometimes it’s best for all parties if players move on. Hernandez deserves more starts but isn’t good enough to get in ahead of the two main front men.
If he did leave the club Manchester United could promote a youngster to the senior squad or bring in a star name like Edinson Cavani.
Let’s see some of Chicharito’s best moments for the club. Manchester United fans: is it wrong to let him go or time the refresh the front line?
