Managers rarely manage to procure their entire A list of targets in the summer transfer window. Changes of plan and last-minute deals are part of parcel of the modern day game.
But after a slow start this summer Tottenham and their new manager seem to be getting a fairly clear list of targets together.
The following players could comprise Tottenham’s main transfer wish list based on recent reports:
If Tottenham manage to get him they won’t sign a better player this summer. He may not resemble a player of great flair but he is one of the most efficient young players in Europe.
Despite his tender age of 23 he’s already put in 5 full seasons for Real Sociedad, scoring 49 league goals in 179 games. He’s a goal scoring wide man of real quality.
Tottenham aren’t the only team keen on acquiring his services and it’s easy to see why. He’s quick, powerful and has a great eye for goal, scoring 25 and is 48 games in his debut season for a struggling Swansea outfit.
Hugo Lloris has just signed a new long-term contract to the huge relief of Tottenham fans. But Spurs are going to need younger backup than Brad Friedel and Vorm is quality.
Tottenham have seemingly beaten off the competition and are close to securing the signature of this excellent young Welshman. The long term solution to Tottenham’s problem left side?
He was reportedly on the radar of Manchester City for some time but now that they are close to Mangala from Porto, Benatia could be primed for a move to Tottenham.
A brilliant young striker who has bagged 19 in 41 games for Roma. At 23 he would add power and energy to the front line.
Tottenham fans: which are the priority signings for you?
