There’s been constant talk this summer about Manchester United trying to sign Argentine international Angel di Maria this summer.
He’s a decent if unpredictable player who may add something to the side but is worth nowhere near the prices being quoted for him.
Di Maria will never be a great player. But Marco Reus will.
If Manchester United want to spend megabucks on a winger this summer then, for us, there is absolutely no competition between the two.
Reports today suggest that Reus will opt for a move to Bayern München, as several Dortmund players have over the last couple of years. The Express says:
MARCO REUS is set to snub the advances of Liverpool and join Bayern Munich instead next summer.
The 25-year-old has garnered interest from a plethora of Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea.
Dortmund would surely prefer to sell to Manchester United than their fierce domestic rivals. And even if he cost around €45 million it would be one of the best signings Manchester United could possibly make.
Reus is one of the most two-footed players you will ever have the pleasure of seeing. He’s also got that German efficiency to add to the abundance of flair – a lethal combination.
He’s got a great delivery off either flank and also comes inside to brilliant effect – Reus is a goal scoring wide man of tremendous quality. He seems to cut through defences like chainsaw through jelly.
If Manchester United really want a marquee signing this summer for the wide areas then it has to be Reus.
Let’s see this brilliant player in action. Manchester United fans: does he boil your potatoes?
