There have been several targets on the radar for Manchester United who have drawn more intense speculation over the last couple of weeks.
But one player whose name was been creeping up on the stand side in the last fortnight is the brilliant Columbian Juan Cuadrado.
To begin with we thought that this was just another name thrown into the hat out of nowhere.
But it has become a persistent link and Manchester United are reportedly serious about taking the player, having made a bit of €36.5 million for the Fiorentina dynamo, according to The Daily Star:
Manchester United make £29m (36.5m Euros) bid for Arsenal target Juan Cuadrado
MANCHESTER UNITED are set to beat a host of Europe’s top sides to secure the signature of Colombia star Juan Cuadrado.
If there is truth in the story, we think it would be an extremely exciting and sensible addition for Manchester United. Cuadrado was one of the best wide men in the entire World Cup tournament and Manchester United are desperately short of quality on the flanks. He’s a world class talent who, at 26, is coming into the prime of his football career. Great engine, never stops running and has a superb final ball.
The other great thing about Cuadrado is that he could obviously play in a few different positions – as a wing-back, winger, or even a full-back if asked.
So he would fit nicely into any system that Louis van Gaal wishes to employ – and we think there will be quite a few during the season, from the maverick manager.
Let’s see the speed demon in action. Manchester United fans: should Louis be looking for wingers as a priority?
