Like and incorrigible spot, this one feels as if it is going to come to a head pretty soon. Of course it’s all hype at the moment but there has been so much talk about Arturo Vidal to Manchester United that you have to feel that there is proper substance to the tale.
And, the fact that there have been no official denials from either club or the agent of the player of late lead us to feel fairly confident that a deal is potentially in the offing.
Various media reports suggested late on Friday that Manchester United were having talks with the agent of Arturo Vidal over the possibility of a huge transfer to the club.
Fernando Felicevich also looks after Arsenal bound Alexis Sanchez so he was in England to look after that deal and talks were said to have occurred in relation to Vidal and Manchester United.
The Daily Mail reports:
Manchester United are hoping for a breakthrough in discussions over the £35million (44m Euro) transfer of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
The Chile international shares the same agent as Alexis Sanchez, Fernando Felicevich, and talks are understood to have taken place on Friday.
The Metro passes on similar information but reckons that the fee will be higher:
Manchester United are closing in on a £40million deal for Juventus star Arturo Vidal after holding positive talks with his agent.
Vidal, 27, is United’s number one transfer target this summer and despite Juventus insisting he’s not for sale, Louis van Gaal is increasingly confident of getting his man.
There is a growing clamour amongst the Manchester United faithful for Vidal’s signature. He is seen by many as a vital missing ingredient from a midfield that has been on the wane for years and misses the bite and mobility that Roy Keane once gave it.
Manchester United need a player like Yaya Toure in there. Someone who can have a massive impact on the team, lead by example and take games by the scruff of the neck. Vidal has many of the qualities of The Ivorian and could have a similar effect on The Premier League.
We shall keep you posted on updates over the weekend. Meantime let’s see some of his magic. Manchester United fans: Is this now priority number one?
