Chelsea Transfers: Where can Blues fit this World Class star into their team?

Another megadeal?

The Chelsea rumour mill has been awash over the last day about the possibility of the club signing yet another world star.

There have been some unbelievable individual performances at what has been a World Cup of outright attack.

And one of the players to have shone in Brazil is French youngster Paul Pogba. With every passing game you have to ask yourself what possessed Manchester United to allow him to leave for peanuts – especially when they were in desperate of extra quality in the midfield.

But leave he did and he has been a superstar at Juventus. There has been constant speculation about his departure and his appearance in West London this week, just around the corner from Chelsea’s ground, has only intensified talk of a massive move to Stamford Bridge.

The Mail reports:

Chelsea target Paul Pogba was spotted in west London on Thursday, just a stone’s throw away from Stamford Bridge as he posed for pictures with fans in Knightsbridge.

The French midfielder was one of the stars of the 2014 World Cup and has been linked with a £60million move away from Serie A champions Juventus with Chelsea on the hunt for another central midfielder.

Of course it’s a ‘squad game’ these days blah de blah. But one of the main reasons Pogba left Old Trafford was because he wasn’t getting any game time. He is not going to want to sit on the bench at Chelsea so they would have to find a place for him in the first eleven.

We all know that Jose Mourinho loves the 4-2-3-1 and we don’t expect him to change that. With Cesc Fabregas playing, we assume, in the middle of the attacking 3 and Mourinho loving speed demons out wide then the only place that Pogba could feasibly play is in the defensive midfield alongside Nemanja Matic.

We instinctively feel that this would blunt one of Pogba’s best qualities – his ability to score goals from around the edge of the box.

But he is a complete midfield player and can perform several functions for the team. If he did play in the 2 then you would still expect him to get forward regularly.

When a player this good becomes available you simply have make room for him and Chelsea may well prove to be his next destination.

What a team they would have if he came.

Let’s see Pogba in action. Chelsea fans: best signing possible or should you be concentrating on more strikers?
