We spoke yesterday about Tottenham trying to sign Romelu Lukaku and we think that it would be a fantastic deal for the club.

But the player himself may end up cursing the name of Divock Origi in terms of his club and international career.

Because Tottenham are reportedly trying to hijack Brendan Rodgers’s bid to sign the player, according to areas of the media today.

It has been reported that personal terms and a fee have been agreed with the player to join the Anfield outfit but that he is also meeting Tottenham today as he assesses his options. The Express states that while he may well be on his way up north:

Origi, however, will meet Spurs officials today.

If Tottenham do get a chance to sign this player then they have to push the boat out to get a deal done – offer a bit more cash to the club and player than what is currently on the table. Because he would be worth his weight in diamond and is a player who can have a massive impact on The Premier League immediately.

Just 19, but he is very developed physically and looks tailor-made for English football.

Origi was one of the standout players for Belgium at The World Cup, combining his power and pace with sensational footwork and unbelievable composure, for one so young. He kept Lukaku out of the side with his excellent performances.

Lukaku himself is proven Premier League quality and, as such, may represent a lower risk signing. But Origi looks as if he has the potential to be even better than his countryman.

Of course, one signing shouldn’t necessarily preclude the other for Tottenham, even though it was an either/or situation in the starting line up with Belgium at The World Cup.

Tottenham need at least two more strikers and they should both be snapped up in our opinion. Both have the ability to play in several positions and Lukaku regularly started out wide for Everton last season.

Let’s have a look at Origi in action. Tottenham fans: which of these two would you prefer if you could only have one?

Origi looked average at the WC, plus his scoring record in an inferior league isn’t great. Think spurs should steer clear.

i think spurs should try and go for both lukaku and origi as they,re both used to each other play by training in the belgium squad and would be a great asset for spurs in the future COYS.
