Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t made his mark in the transfer market for Tottenham so far but it surely won’t be long before that first deal is done. With teams dropping like flies from The World Cup negotiations over international players will be made much more simple in the coming weeks.
But, with so many quality players already at the club, the new Tottenham boss is likely to have to fend off interest in some of his own players too. A prime candidate is Hugo Lloris who, since his arrival at Spurs, has become one of the best keepers on the planet.
PSG have recently been linked to a big money move and Lloris may be attracted by a move to his homeland.
But a club the size of Tottenham in a league the size of the EPL has its own attraction and we think he would be better off staying in England. Nevertheless, with Brad Friedel now approaching his 67th birthday Tottenham will have to plan for the future regardless of what happens to Lloris.
One player to be linked to Spurs is the England keeper Fraser Forster. Nicknamed ‘La Gran Muralla‘ (The Great Wall) by the Spanish media, after his heroics against Barcelona in The Champions League, Forster is a really solid stopper who many believe has a rightful shout for a starting spot in the England team. Certainly it surprised us that the regularly hapless Ben Foster was chosen ahead of him for the dead rubber against Costa Rica.
Anyway, Spurs fans may be interested to now that Tottenham are favourites with bookmaker Bet Victor to sign Forster if he does move this summer at odds of 4/1.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Tottenham fans: good potential choice?
