Worth the cash?

The Manchester United transfer juggernaut began in earnest last week and now that they have got the first couple of deals out of the way it seems that the next few won’t be far behind.

If anything the signings of Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw have simply intensified reports of more business to come.

One player who has been on and off the radar for years is Argentine flyer Nicolas Gaitan. The Befica star has just come off the back off a really consistent season and The Metro suggests that Manchester United are in negotiations for his signature with the Portuguese club.

Manchester United are reportedly in negotiations with Benfica for a £16m move for midfielder Nicolas Gaitan – and could use Bebe as part of the deal.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record, new United manager Louis van Gaal is considering bringing the 26-year-old to England and could offer Bebe to Benfica in a bid to lower the transfer fee.

The Express reports:

Man Utd open talks with Benfica over Nicolas Gaitan and could include Bebe in deal

Not for the first time, the suggestion is that Manchester United will use Bebe, who has shown some really good form on loan over the last two years, as a makeweight in any deal.

The 26 year old Gaitan has played 255 career games, for Boca Juniors and Benfica, scoring 39 goals in the process. He’s also turned out six times for Argentina but failed to find the net.

It seems that it’s now or never for a major move for the player and his left foot could work wonders at Manchester United.

Let’s have a look at some recent highlights of the lad. Manchester United fans: a top choice or a fall back option?

Mexico has few interesting players United should consider bringing in their squad, especially Marquez, Rodriguez, Reyes. They have shown great maturity during the world cup matches and have proved to be among the best in their respective post
