Everton: Sensational forward on the radar – report

Two on radar

Everton are reportedly considering moves for Enner Valencia and Georgios Samaras.

The two strikers have apparently impressed manager Roberto Martinez and Everton could be lining up offers for them in the near future, according to The Liverpool Echo.

Both players have had impressive World Cup campaigns so far. Enner Valencia managed to find the net 3 times for Ecuador before the side were eliminated in the group stages. This carries on his impressive goal scoring record that has seen him score 18 times in just 23 games for Mexican side Pachuca.

Samaras meanwhile has played a crucial role in his national side’s advance into the knockout stages. Using all the experience gained from his 77 international caps he managed to win a penalty and then coolly finish it to help Greece seal a 2-1 victory against the Ivory Coast on Wednesday.

Everton are in need of frontmen for the upcoming season. Their top performer from last season, Romelu Lukaku, has returned from his loan spell to parent club Chelsea. Another star forward, Gerard Deulofeu, has also come to the end of his loan and is unlikely to be able to return to Everton as new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique wants him in his first team.

That probably makes signing strikers a priority for Roberto Martinez. Valencia and Samaras could be useful solutions to that problem. Although the Ecuadorian’s record at first club Emelec was not particularly impressive, his form since moving to Pachuca has been much improved.

The Greek front man, who can also play on the wing, would provide a reliable stream of goals. His time at Heerenveen and Manchester City were far from electric but since joining Celetic in 2008 he has gone on to score 74 goals in 248 appearances in all competitions. He is also currently a free agent, meaning that Martinez would only have to worry about wages rather than a big transfer fee.

That’s right – a bollocks player that scored consistently in the Champions league – come to think of it when were Everton last in the Champions league – oh that’s right Martinez doesn’t think you’re ready , which is why a player like Sami is taking a massive step down if he ends up going to Liverpool’s second team.

Oh dear Bhoy67……here we find another case of Small Country syndrome.

Just a bit of an education sweetpea. Being in the champions league and then going to a club not in the champions league IS NOT a step down on a club basis you fool.

A move to Everton would be a massive step up in level for him to a bigger club, fact. However, NO Everton fans would want him because 1) He wasn’t good enough in his first stint at EPL level and he is still not good enough, so PLEASE keep him.

Martinez thinks we are not ready for Champions League Football? I wonder what made up source you got that from? Because he has NEVER said that.

Please stick to facts and try not comparing d**k size with a country who has a much superior league to that of your own.

Everton are not a big club, all they are is a middling premiership club with Sky money, same for three quarters of that league.
