Everton linked with dynamo – simply have to sign this star

Super player

Much of the talk regarding Everton’s transfer business so far this summer has been about a permanent move for Gareth Barry.

He’s been absolutely exceptional for Everton over the last year and, at 33, still looks as if he has lead in the pencil.

But we think that another Manchester City player would be an even better acquisition for Everton this summer.

Jack Rodwell looks ever more likely to move on as Manchester City have just signed another midfielder – Fernando from Porto for £12 million.

Some are suggesting that Rodwell could be on his way back to Everton this summer. The Mirror said Thursday night:

Jack Rodwell can leave Manchester City following Fernando’s £12million arrival, with Everton and West Brom leading the race for him.

The ex-Evertonian hasn’t really had a chance to prove himself at City having been regularly injured and committing a couple of high-profile clangers when he has played.

But he has shown glimpses of class for club and country over the last two years aswell.

We strongly believe that this guy could be one of the best midfielders in England and given the right coaching and affection he could do an amazing job for Everton. Roberto Martinez is surely the man for this job.

A more progressive midfielder than Barry but he could do a job in several positions for the club – sitting in front of the defence or further up the park.

Everton fans surely won’t need convincing about the quality of Rodwell, even though he’s had a bad couple of years. We think that Everton is his rightful home and if he can stay injury free, The Toffees would have one heck of a midfield.

Let’s remind ourselves of the class of the lad. Everton fans: better signing than Gareth Barry? Or would you take both, either or neither?
