The carousel of potential signings seems to stop on a new name each day in relation to strikers coming to Arsenal.
Today’s shout is that Arsenal will go in for Mario Mandzukic if the Mario Balotelli deal doesn’t come off.
It’s all still pure speculation at this point of course but Balotelli’s agent did seem to suggest this week that a move to Arsenal could be on.
And soccersweep believes that a move for Balotelli would make much more sense for Arsenal. The Croatian is of course an excellent striker who scores goals galore.
But we feel that Arsenal need variety, more than anything else, in their strikeforce this summer and Mandzukic could be seen as having fairly similar qualities to Olivier Giroud.
What Arsenal need now is pace and power in the striking ranks.
So we say again: Mr. Wenger, what are you waiting for? Sign up Balotelli and Remy now and enjoy the rest of the summer looking for a right back and a holding midfielder with the pressure off.
Anyway The Metro says that Arsenal are prepared to make a £15 million move for Mandzukic:
Arsenal are set to make a £15million bid for out-of-favour Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic as the club line up alternatives to leading target Mario Balotelli.
AC Milan forward Balotelli is the Gunners’ preferred option as they look to add a superstar striker to their ranks this summer, but manager Arsene Wenger is keeping his options open.
Let’s have another look at Mandzukic. Arsenal fans: would his signing be happy days or do you agree that he is similar to what you have?
