Manchester United to make £25m bid for La Liga star – report

Manchester United are said to be preparing a major bid for Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria according to reports.

The Metro states this morning that Spain is abuzz with talk of a £25m offer for the player who has just had a stellar season for Real Madrid, scoring 11 and creating a whopping 24 assists.

According to reports in Spain, United will tempt Madrid to sell by offering £25million, with the Red Devils ready to pay the full fee up front.

He finally looks to be fulfilling his vast potential after going down a bit easily and not consistently providing a decent final ball in his early twenties. Although playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world he arguably flattered to deceive for a long period.

But now that he is doing the business it’s difficult to see Real Madrid letting him go. His latest comments could be a simple ploy to negotiate a better contract. But with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo already at the club there is always a risk that a player like di Maria could get itchy feet. The same source quotes Di Maria as saying:

‘I am not going to lie, I know that there are clubs that want to sign me and can match Real Madrid’s demands,’ he said.

‘I am happy at Madrid. I had a great season and always had everybody’s support.’

Manchester United are desperate for more quality out wide and di Maria has proven this season that he can be a match winner at any level.

Let’s see the lad in action. Manchester United fans – would this be money well spent?
