The quality and strength in depth of Manchester United’s midfield has been eroded over time and Manchester United need several top players to replace the likes of the recently retired Giggs and Scholes and, eventually, Michael Carrick too.
United need a superb creative talent in the heart of that midfield and reports this week have suggested that Manchester United will renew their efforts to sign Spanish maestro Cesc Fabregas.
Manchester United are ready to make a £30million offer for Cesc Fabregas after Barcelona reportedly put him up for sale.
Fabregas, who was subject of three offers from United last summer, eventually decided to stay put at the Nou Camp.
He had a decent season at Barcelona but the rumours persist and there is rarely smoke without fire in the football industry. There must be some substance to this one.
We struggle to think of a player who would better suit Manchester United in the creative midfield role. Fabregas has a wonderful football brain, great feet and can unlock even the tightest defences with his sharp passing. He is the sort of player who looks so comfortable on the ball that you might be forgiven for thinking that he’s playing in his slippers. He played 55 times for Barca this season scoring 13 and making 16 assists.
Let’s remind ourselves of the wonderful talents of the man. Manchester United fans is it worth going back for Fabregas despite the embarrassment caused last summer?
