Tottenham will look to invest this summer but perhaps not only on playing staff.
Tim Sherwood has done a sterling job at the helm but it appears as if another man may come in this summer.
Tottenham were apparently keen on Louis van Gaal but the experienced Dutchman could well now be on his way to Manchester United.
Rumours have resurfaced of late that Tottenham will look to bring Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino into the club this summer.
The obvious drawback is that he is still learning English. But communication doesn’t seem to have been a problem in a Southampton side which has been one of the most coherent teams in the league this year.
Furthermore Southampton play in exactly the sort of manner that Tottenham fans expect from their team.
It’s fast flowing football from Southampton who press high up the pitch when they’re not in possession and even higher up when they have the ball – fearless, attractive and attacking footy at its best.
We believe that Pochettino would be a perfect fit for Tottenham Hotspur. He only has one full season under his belt at Southampton and many opine that experience is the most important quality of any successful manager. But try telling Pep Guardiola that.
We were against the sacking of Harry. We were highly disturbed by the appointment of AVB. And, for the record, we would love to see Pochettino at Tottenham because we think that, within a couple of months, he would have utterly convinced the Spurs fans that he is the man for the job.
Indeed, he may have the Manchester United board staring enviously at White Hart Lane within 6 months. Because he’s young, hungry and pure quality.
Tottenham fans – is Pochettino a gamble worth taking or would you rather go for a more experienced man at the helm?
