Manchester United: Robin van Persie tells the club that world star wants to join United – report

Not this old chestnut again? Apparently the humiliating Fabregas saga may not yet be over. Perhaps there is a happy ending for Manchester United after all.

Because a report from highly respected publication The Guardian states that Manchester United’s Dutch star RvP has told the club that Cesc Fabregas did want to join the club last summer after all.

This has lead Manchester United to look into the signing once more. Let us not forget that Barcelona have a transfer ban for the next year and any deal for Fabregas could hinge on a successful appeal by the Catalan club.

The Guardian says:

United’s chief executive, has been made aware that Cavani might be available and is also tempted to look again at Cesc Fábregas’s position at Barcelona, despite the unsatisfactory way it turned out when they tried to sign him last summer.

Their interest is sustained in part because Robin van Persie, Fábregas’s close friend, has reported that the former Arsenal midfielder wanted the move to happen, using the striker as an intermediary, and Woodward was told exactly the same by the relevant agents.

We have said it before and we’ll say it again – this guy would be an absolute sensation for Manchester United. He’s the perfect creative midfielder with balance, two feet and the ability to pick a forward pass like few others. He plays the game with effortless precision.

Manchester United would be bold to go back in for him after the debacle which marked the beginning of David Moyes’s tenure at the club. But any pain would surely be worth it as Fabregas could, at last, offer a substantial solution to the gaping hole left in the midfield by the departure of The Ginger Prince, Paul Scholes.

Let’s remind ourselves of the brilliance of Cesc. CLICK FOR FABREGAS

The cavani deal makes no sense to me unless RVP and chica are both leaving. Personally I feel 4-2-3-1 is the way forward and you can’t have 4 quality strikers all after 1 position

If Fabregas really joins now with no manager in sight….. yawwwwwwwwwwn, i dont know; maybe he needs to play in tandem with Mata & Kagawa provided both of them stay.
    De Gea
    Rafael Smalling/Evans Jones Shaw
    Valencia Januzaj
    Fabregas Mata Kagawa
    Rooney/Persie
    Sub: Cleverly, Carick, Hernandez, Welbeck
Although even Rafael may be replaced by some good buy in the transfer market.
For Gods sake get rid of dead wood in
    Nani, Anderson, Young, Ferdinand, Vidic.

Why all this ‘Fabregas to United’ nonsense again? Cesc Fabregas, last summer, had a great chance to join Man United but declined the opportunity to join. Since then the player himself has openly spoken in December, and stated: “i made the right choice to stay at Barcelona” after seeing Man United’s woes under the chosen one! I think United should concentrate on other targets instead off going back in circles.
