Manchester United: 4 Superstars to build a team around

The top 4

We aren’t suggesting of course that there are only 4 decent players in this Manchester United squad.

But there are four players who would still be attractive to any team in the world and are of the right age to be part of the next great Manchester United side. Players like Rafael and Chris Smalling will also be key but these four can lead Manchester United to more titles.

De Gea – Manchester United must tie this guy to a new contract as a matter of priority. Because, until they do, the vultures from Spain will continue to circle. Real Madrid and Barca need keepers and De Gea is tailor made for one of those giants. But he does seem happy at Manchester United and he’s getting better by the month. World Class.

Jones – Another Fergie purchase who is slowly growing into a top player – to the point that you would have been more surprised had he not started in the second leg at Bayern Munchen. He is already one of the biggest characters in the team and if he can avoid the niggling injuries we are surely looking at a future United captain. Great feet and reading of the game. Plus he’s a true warrior and competitor.

Januzaj If he hasn’t already we would get this guy a sprinting coach. Because he has everything else in his locker except blistering pace. A truly exciting element to a truly disappointing season. Januzaj was recently named the best U20 player in the world by Gazetta Dello Sport

Rooney– Still only 28 and had banged in 20 goals again this season despite the struggles of his team. Rooney, as so often seems to happen, had an injury for the big game against Bayern – surely he would have gobbled up those chances otherwise?
