Much as we would love for every game to be a scorcher, the fact is that fans of even the best sides have to put up with a lot of dross each season – much chaff amongst the wheat. Those autumn months can be particularly poor when your side hasn’t found it’s rhythm and goals can be hard to come by.
But, regardless of form, tonight’s match between Manchester United and Bayern is what it’s all about – it’s what you are in it for as a football fan. Manchester United are in the middle of a twenty year dip in terms of results. But, they do still have one of the better squads in world football – certainly one with more than a few world class talents – the likes of De Gea, Rooney, Mata and RvP would grace any Manchester United vintage. Sadly the latter two aren’t available tonight.
Yet there remains a sense that this could either way. More believe that Manchester United can go through after the first leg showing and we should be in for an absolute bobby dazzler. Hold tight.
