Where to start with Manchester United’s summer spend? According to some they need to strengthen in just about every area of the pitch. Except up front. Unless RvP leaves. In which case they would like someone there too please.
Anyway, we believe that the defence is almost as needy as the midfield for replacements. One recent rumour has linked Manchester United with a player who faced the club in the last round of The Champions League. Italian publication CalcioMercato and Bild affiliates TransferMarkt have fanned the flames again on this one by saying:
The 22 year old greek Olympiacos defender, Kostas Manolas, is one of the objectives of the Red Devils for the coming year.
Manolas played for AEK Athens over 60 times before joining Greece’s most successful club in 2012. He’s gone on to represent the club with honours scoring 4 times in 47 league appearances. He’s certainly quick and mobile for someone who stands at over 6ft 2 inches. He has also represented his country (Greece) on 6 occasions since his debut in 2013. Newcastle have, in recent months, also been credited with an interest in signing the player.
Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Manchester United fans. Keen?
