Manchester United: Deal agreed for £17m forward – report

News this morning suggests that David Moyes’s overhaul of his squad is continuing by the day. With speculation intensifying about who else Manchester United may bring in before the end of the window reports this morning imply that a deal has been struck for another Manchester United departure.

The Metro says:

Nani is on his way out of Manchester United, with a loan move to Inter Milan agreed.

The Portugal winger has accepted a loan deal which will take him to the San Siro for the rest of the season.

Nani, who moved to Manchester United in 2007 for £17m has flickered brightly but failed to offer consistency in his performances for the club. He can be a genuine matchwinner and has shown this on a dozen or so occasions. But in a time span of over six years this simply isn’t enough.

There is a feeling that this loan deal could lead to a permanent move for the player. We believe that it is in the best interests of all parties that Nani now moves on to pastures new. He could well be the bomb in Italy – he certainly has the talent to be a success at his next club. Perhaps a league with a slower pace would better suit his raw talents.

Nani played 224 times for Manchester United, scoring 41 goals in the process. He also has a highly creditable 72 caps for Portugal and has captained his country in that time.

The 27 year old is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but this isn’t thought to be a deal breaker in the move to Inter.

Let’s have a look at the man in action.
