Chelsea remain best priced for last minute signing of world star

With many sources reporting over the last few days, that Wayne Rooney is close to signing a new contract at Manchester United, any possibility of him coming to Chelsea now looks more remote than ever.

Chelsea are going to have to change targets and some are surprised they haven’t made a move for a striker in the January market.

Actually, well placed sources at a highly regarded broadsheet, reported earlier in the month that Chelsea had indeed made a megabit for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. The Telegraph reported:

Chelsea plan second bid for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuaín after having £50 million offer rejected.

Jose Mourinho keen on being reunited with Argentine as Chelsea look to solve lack of a goalscorer, but Demba Ba could leave in January window

Chelsea aren’t accustomed to failing in their transfer bids. And, as the Telegraph stated at the start of January, a second bid was expected.

It does appear to be the glaring weakness in Chelsea’s side. Fernando Torres is still a very good player but no longer a top goalscorer. The Special One knows that it is going to take a titanic effort to overhaul the brilliant Manchester City this season. The task would become a lot simpler if Chelsea signed a really top marksman for the second half of the campaign.

Still, there is no point signing a player for the short-term. Chelsea probably won’t bother unless they can find a really top target. Higuain probably falls into that category and we wouldn’t be at all surprised if another bid is made for the striker at the end of this window.

The Argentinian has scored a remarkable 21 in 35 caps for his country. In club terms, he has banged them in everywhere he’s played. That’s 152 goals and 69 assists in 330 senior club games in Argentina, Spain and Italy.

Higuain is 9/2 favourite with SkyBet to join Chelsea in the winter window.

It’s hard to imagine this guy being a failure at Chelsea and we think he would make a brilliant addition to the team.

Let’s see him in action.

Mourinho need to open his eye and see, that the more he see, the less it become.
It is better for mourinho to sign Antoine griezman(£18m) or jackson martinez(£22m) or ibramovish(£30m) or beradi(£25m) or cavani(£55m), n waite until summer to sign diego costa, than signing none, because there is no time.

Mourinho time is crucial, chelsea needs prolific striker, n dont encitate not to sign none
pls mourinho with your influence u can buy ibramovish(£30m) or beradi(£25m) or higuain(£57m) or cavani(£51m)
if possible u can send de ba bam to athletic madrid and pay (£30m) for diego costa instead of waiting until summer to buy prolific striker, buy striker and forget about chelsea striking force.
