Star reportedly wants Chelsea move

Chelsea have done their business efficiently, if not quietly, in the January window. But, with a fee the size of the one that took Juan Mata to Manchester United, it’s hard to stay low profile in your dealings.

The recruitment of Matic and Salah has left Chelsea in a strong position for the second of the campaign. They will of course need a big squad if they are going to compete with the likes of Manchester City for the title.

Some good news today, which may not affect the team immediately, but most probably in the summer. Luke Shaw, a Chelsea fan, has apparently snubbed a move to Manchester United in order to wait for Chelsea to make a bid in the summer.

The Mirror said late last night:

Manchester United transfer target Luke Shaw wants Chelsea move from Southampton even if it’s in the summer

The champions are pushing to get a deal for the rising star left-back done before Friday’s deadline but the boyhood Blue is in no rush to quit Saints

With Ashley Cole looking as if you may be on the way out of Chelsea in the next year César Azpilicueta has been doing a fantastic job on the left. But a team of Chelsea’s size will probably want a natural left footer to take Coles place eventually. And who better than Shaw – absolutely top left back even at the age of 18. Manchester United are apparently keen to do business now with Fabio gone and Evra waning.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Chelsea fans – is this guy the perfect successor to Ashley Cole?
