Manchester United making another grave mistake?

We have all heard the speculation about Manchester United spending fortunes, to bring in some of the finest talent in world football, in an attempt to rejuvenate their team. Several areas of the squad need addressing and David Moyes is clearly scouring Europe for available talent.

But, surely they won’t allow any of their top players to leave without a fight?

In a very worrying development, reports have suggested that this may be the case. Injury has deprived the lad of a proper run in the team this season but, for our money, Rafael Da Silva would be the first name on the team sheet for Manchester United when fit.

He took time to iron out the impetuosity from his game – and it still surfaces from time to time with the odd rash challenge. But we think that you would be hard pressed to find a better right back in Europe. The 23 year old is the perfect modern full back. He’s lightning quick, incredibly energetic, aggressive, mobile and plays every game as if it’s his last. He not only does the defending part proficiently – he is allowed the occasional lapse because he has the pace to recover – but he’s often more threatening going forward than many of Manchester United’s specialist wingers.

Rafa has super technique and that buccaneering, fearless and daring style of play that is so suited to Manchester United. We already think that he’s a world-class performer and by his mid-twenties we don’t think that anyone will disagree. Here is a top right back for the Brazil national side for the next 8 years or so. He’s that good.

The Star quotes the agent of the twins who says:

“At the moment I can say that they will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can go.”

We have tried to maintain a sense of calm about Manchester United under the management of David Moyes. But he would be absolutely off his tiny chops to let this superb player leave. Fabio too deserves more minutes at Manchester United. But letting Rafa leave would be total madness.

Rafael assuaged the worried fans to a degree by instagramming the following‘I’m not leaving’ #mufc’

However, the direct quotes from the agent have left many uncomfortable.

Manchester United fans, would David Moyes be mad to let Rafa leave?
