Brazilian goal machine who Manchester United must consider

A great short-term fix for United’s midfield

There will be a huge clamour for players in a window where demand usually outstrips supply of top quality football talent.

So if David Moyes is going to be successful in the market he may have to look at less obvious solutions. One such solution is the Brazilian international Diego. The South American journeyman has played all over Europe at Juventus, Werder Bremen and Porto, to name a few. He’s a free-scoring 28 year old who managed an amazing 38 goals in 84 games while at Bremen. He also has 33 caps for his country.

The latest news cycles are linking him with a move to Southampton but perhaps David Moyes might like to take a look at the player. He’s clearly got an excellent football brain and makes things happen in the midfield as well as scoring a bucket load of goals.

He’s out of contract with his current club at the end of the season and there is every chance he might make a move in the winter window. He might represent the perfect short term addition to a Manchester United squad which lacks creativity and spark right now.

Speculation has been rife about Manchester United’s potential interest in Cruzeiro player Everton Ribeiro. The 24-year-old seems keen on a move to England but, with question marks over Ribeiro’s ability to get a work permit to play in England, Diego may represent a more feasible piece of Brazilian business.

Let’s take a look at the player in action. Manchester United fans, is he worth a punt?
