Chelsea are linked with big-money signings virtually every day and that speculation will only intensify as the transfer window draws near.
Although they haven’t conceded an alarming amount of goals this season there is a sense that The Special One will look to reinforce that department eventually.
Two players are being linked today with that notion in mind. The Guardian reports:
The apparently imminent departure of David Luiz from Stamford Bridge means Chelsea are in the market for a centre-back and Internazionale defender Andrea Ranocchia appears to feature prominently on their list of potential replacements. A hulking 25-year-old who has represented Italy at every level from youth to full senior international, Ranocchia is contracted to Inter until 2015, but could move to London in January if, as is rumoured, Luiz moves to pastures Nou.
The same report drags up the oft-reported rumour that Chelsea also want Eliaquim Mangala:
And finally, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all sniffing around France defender Eliaquim Mangala, who will be offered a pay rise by Porto in an attempt to keep him where he is,
Another interesting link which has surfaced, not for the first time, is that of Wesley Sneijder to Chelsea. He hasn’t been at Galatasaray for long but he is seemingly unsettled and rumours are starting to do the rounds about another move. He has once again been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.
Still only 29 and having had one successful stint under Mourinho already we you think this story might have legs. Chelsea fans, would you like to see the old master at The Bridge?
