Worth a punt for Arsenal?

It is most certainly hotting up in the transfer market now the window is not too far away. With just a few weeks to go until January the big clubs are moving into position in order to try to strengthen their sides for their trophy challenges ahead.

Arsenal have had a fantastic season so far, coasting into the knockout stages of The Champions League and leading The Premier League by four points, as we go into the festive season.

But many onlookers have suggested that, of all the big clubs, Arsenal need to strengthen the most during the winter window. They have been linked today with two youngsters who may represent the future as well as the present of the club.

The Daily Mail says that Arsenal are the latest club on the trail of brilliant Scottish youngster Ryan Gauld:

Arsene Wenger’s scouts will be the latest star-spotters to beat a path to Tannadice when they run the rule over Scottish football’s hottest property Ryan Gauld on Friday evening.

Dubbed ‘The New Messi’, this lad really does look like mustard. He’s got a low centre of gravity, really fleet feet and the ball never seems to stray far from his body when on the move. CLICK FOR GAULD

The same outlet suggests that Arsenal are also keen on another youngster, 17-year-old Paraguay international, Tony Sanabria.

The 17-year-old striker is a Paraguay international and regular in Barcelona’s B side.

His representatives held meetings on Wednesday and Arsenal are deemed favourites to pip the Italians to his signature once they trigger the player’s £2.5million buy-out clause next month.

Yet another player from the seemingly endless Barcelona production line, he’s got great feet and wonderful technique, as you would imagine from someone from the Catalan school of excellence.

Let’s have a look at him in action. Arsenal fans should the club be investing in youth or more established stars for the title push?
