I think it’s fair to say that most of us agree Arsenal need at least one more striker in the winter window.
The ideal scenario would be to get someone better than Olivier Giroud. Lets be ruthless about this. Giroud is a good striker but you wouldn’t bet on him to score the winning goal in The Champions League final or even to blast his team into that final.
Giroud is about as good as Javier Hernandez – that is to say the third or fourth choice at Manchester United. We aren’t comparing the two teams. If we did we could have a field day about how much better Arsenal are in the midfield.
All we’re saying is that Arsenal need a really stellar striker to make the difference in big games.
But January is a very difficult time to pull off a transfer like that. Arsenal may well look to get some cover in for the short-term. Demba Ba has been mentioned as possible addition. Another Chelsea link has surfaced which suggests that Arsenal may make a move for Saloman Kalou this winter.
Still only 28, Kalou currently plays for Lille in France and has scored 19 goals for his current club this season.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has long admired Kalou, 28, and in the past failed in his attempts to lure him to the Emirates Stadium.
Kalou’s superb form has perked Wenger’s interest and the Frenchman is weighing up making a bid as he looks to bolster his attacking options, with Nicklas Bendtner expected to leave the club in January.
The same report says that table topping Italian side Roma could also be interested in signing the striker.

Arsen must buy either Lewandosk or Di maria/Benzema/Chicharito, wich means that we need a real striker! Geroud is not as good as we want.

If really Arsene Wenger is desperate 2 win a trophy,then why would he be going after players who can’t even fit into Arsenal XI.Who s Kalou in d first place dt Wenger thinks he could come and support Giroud while even d Giroud himself doesn’t deserve 2 appear in d XI squad.we support arsenal bcuz we luv d team nt bcuz of what he always comes out 2 say 2 us.Gunners 4 life(Sito Zakirai)
